What Is a Crochet Frog Lovey?
This crochet frog lovey is a small security blanket featuring a soft frog head and cute little arms attached to a soft crochet lovey.

Pattern Instructions
MATERIALS:

Super bulky weight (6) yarn in green ~20g
- Premier Basix Chenille - Sage

Medium weight (4) yarn in black ~1g
- Loops & Threads, Impeccable - Black

Super bulky weight (6) yarn in green ~20g
- 6.5 mm crochet hook
- Fiberfill stuffing
- Stitch marker
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissors
ABBREVIATIONS:
- ch = chain
- dec = decrease
- hdc = half double crochet
- inc = increase
- sc = single crochet
- slst = slip stitch
- st(s) = stitch(es)
HELPFUL NOTES:
- The frog is crocheted in continuous rounds. Use a stitch marker at the beginning of each round.
- The numbers within parentheses at the end of each round are the total number of stitches for that round, example: (12).
- An alternative to the magic circle is the chain 2 method. This is the method I used to complete the pattern.
- I crochet using the yarn over/yarn over method.
- Finished lovey size: approx. 10" tall x 10" wide.
FROG HEAD
Use the 6.5 mm hook and super bulky weight (6) yarn in green.
Round 1 – 8 sc in a magic circle (8)
Round 2 – (inc) x 8 (16)
Round 3 – (2 sc, inc) x 2, BO, 1 sc, 2 inc, BO, 4 sc, inc (21)
Rounds 4 to 5 – 1 sc in each st around (21) 2 rounds
Round 6 – (2 sc, dec) x 5, 1 sc (16)
Round 7 – 1 sc in each st around (16)
Round 8 – (dec) x 8 (8) slst to the first dec
Fasten off and leave a long tail to weave the last round closed. Weave the tail through the front loops of round 8. Pull gently to close (careful not to pull too hard as the yarn may break) and sew in your ends.
FROG EYES
Use the tapestry needle and medium weight (4) yarn in black.
Embroider eyes in the middle of each bobble stitch.
Tie the ends together and hide them in the head.
FROG ARMS
Use the 6.5 mm hook and super bulky weight (6) yarn in green.
Chain 3 (start round 1 in the second chain from the hook)
Round 1 – 1 sc, inc, now working on the other side of the chain, 1 sc, inc (6)
Rounds 2 to 3 – 1 sc in each st around (6) 2 rounds
Round 4 – dec, 4 sc (5)
Rounds 5 to 6 – 1 sc in each st around (5) 2 rounds
Do not stuff.
Flatten round 6 together and sc through both sides to close, 2 or 3 sc.
Fasten off and leave a long tail for attaching.
Repeat for the second arm.
