HELPFUL NOTES:
- The llama is crocheted in continuous rounds. Use a stitch marker at the beginning of each round.
- The numbers within parentheses at the end of each round are the total number of stitches for that round, example: (12).
- An alternative to the magic circle is the chain 2 method. This is the method I used to complete the pattern.
- I crochet using the yarn over/yarn over method.
- Finished lovey size: approx. 10" tall x 10" wide.
LLAMA HEAD
Use the 6.5 mm hook and super bulky weight (6) yarn in white.
Chain 3 (start round 1 in the 2nd chain from the hook)
Round 1 – 1 sc, sc x 3 in the last ch space, now working on the other side of the chain: 1 sc, sc x 3 in the last ch space (8)
Rounds 2 to 3 – 1 sc in each st around (8) 2 rounds
Round 4 – 1 sc, 6 inc, 1 sc (14)
Round 5 – 2 sc, (inc, 1 sc) x 5, 2 sc (19)
Rounds 6 to 9 – 1 sc in each st around (19) 4 rounds
Round 10 – (2 sc, dec) x 4, 1 sc, dec (14)
Start stuffing the head and stuff as you go.
Round 11 – (dec) x 7 (7) slst to the first dec
Bind off and leave a long tail.
Weave the tail through the front loops of round 11 and pull gently to close.
Sew in the end.

NOSE: Once the ears are attached, use the tapestry needle and medium weight yarn in black to embroider a nose centered between rounds 1 + 2, create a “Y” shape. photo 2a
LLAMA EARS
Use the 6.5 mm hook and super bulky weight (6) yarn in white.
Chain 6 (start round 1 in the 2nd ch from the hook)
Round 1 – 4 sc, inc in the last ch space, now working on the other side of the chain: 4 sc, inc in the last ch space (12)
Round 2 – 1 sc in each st around (12)
Bind off and leave a long tail for attaching.
Repeat for the second ear.
ATTACHING: At round 8 of the head, attach the ears approx. 3 or 4 sts apart. *photo 2b*

LLAMA ARMS
Use the 6.5 mm hook and super bulky weight (6) yarn in white.
Round 1 – 4 sc in a magic circle (4)
Round 2 – (1 sc, inc) x 2 (6)
Rounds 3 to 5 – 1 sc in each st around (6) 3 rounds
Round 6 – dec, 4 sc (5)
Do not stuff.
Flatten round 6 together and sc through both sides to close, 2 or 3 sc.
Fasten off and leave a long tail for attaching.
Repeat for the second arm.

SNOUT HALTER
Use the 5.5 mm hook and medium weight (4) yarn in your colour choice.
Chain approx. 25 times (add or remove chain stitches until your chain fits around the snout).
Bind off and leave a very long tail (approx. 20” long) for attaching around the entire snout.
ATTACHING: Wrap the snout halter around the snout. Tip: I had the ends meet at the bottom of the snout. Work the needle up through the chain stitches then back down, all the way around until the snout halter is secure.
HEAD HALTER
Use the 5.5 mm hook and medium weight (4) yarn in your colour choice.
Chain approx. 28 times (add or remove chain stitches until your chain fits from one side of the snout, around the back of the head to the other side of the snout)
Bind off and leave a very long tail (approx. 20” long) for attaching around the back of the head.
ATTACHING: Start by attaching both sides of the halter chain on either side of the snout halter. I attached mine about centered on the head. Attach around the back of the head, working up through the chain, then back down through the chain. Repeat around until the halter is secure.

EAR TASSELS
Use the 5.5 mm hook and medium weight (4) yarn in your colour choice.
Step 1: Cut 8" to 10” long pieces of medium weight (4) yarn in your colour choice, for 3 total pieces for each ear.
Step 2: Insert the 5.5 mm hook into the top of the ear from front to back with the 3 pieces equally on the hook.
Step 3: Pull the pieces through the ear and pull up a loop.
Step 4: Pull the ends through the loop.
Step 5: Tighten and secure the knot.
Step 6: Trim to the length you love best!
Repeat for the second ear tassel.
